Kenilworth Gardens Lotus Blossums

Well I'm not a macro person and usually migrate toward roots and trunks but I am quite pleased with some of my lotus blossoms. Narrowing the scope to omit extraneous elements was a challenge and an even bigger challenge was blossom height. Next year I may bring a stool or a ladder.

Adding to that hot day in Fredrick County

Hot and sweaty

I am so glad we left early as I jumped into the shower, had coffee and pick up my print from DRA before dinner and a quiet evening. Here are my favorites; they were all taken w my new 24-120 lens. Leslie

California and Washington

Despite a rogue camera trigger, a wobbly lightweight tripod, wind that could blow you off your feet, steep and gravely terrain, and flat hazy light, I managed to yield some images that are decent and a couple I really like. The latter are those of the Deception Pass Bridge.

The first two were taken from the scary, twisty road below Sugarbowl Academy and Olivia's graduation. The second two were taken at the top of Olympic National Park in Washington. And the last two of the Deception Pass Bridge on Whidby Island, Washington. I stood for what seemed like forever to get the last image as people kept walking into my view. After I waved at two people, they stopped and posed but finally walked away.
